Battler
Battler is a Sri Lankan brand of pure Ceylon tea from Maltras International (Pvt) Ltd of Hewagama, Kaduwela, just east of Colombo. The maker says it works directly with Sri Lankan estate gardens. Its teas are sold in named ranges, from everyday cartons and tea bags to tin caddies and gift boxes, and most packs are foil-sealed. Here they are the Sri Lankan packs, shipped worldwide from Sri Lanka.
Ceylon Elephant. Single-grade black teas named after the elephant on the pack: Gold Elephant FBOP, Black Elephant OP, Kandy Elephant OP and Ruhunu Elephant loose leaf, also in 200 g cartons (Gold, Black, Kandy, Ruhunu and Yala), as 25 and 100 Gold, Black, Kandy and Ruhunu tea bags, and in tin caddies: Gold Elephant FBOP (150 g and 400 g), Black Elephant, Kandy Elephant, Ruhunu Elephant OP1 and Yala Elephant OPA (100 g and 200 g). Two Super Pekoe teas, Grey Elephant with bergamot and Pekoe Elephant, come in 100 g and 200 g cartons. Green Elephant is green tea: 100 g, 200 g and 250 g loose leaf, tea bags and the 100 g and 200 g tins. Paper canisters of 25 bags hold Gold, Black and Green Elephant.
Parade Elephant. Five 100 g teas, each as a loose-leaf carton and a tin: White Elephant Pekoe (carton, tin), Silver Elephant OP (carton, tin), Golden Elephant (carton, tin), Red Elephant OPA (carton, tin) and the green Green Elephant (carton, tin).
Golden Giant. Plain teas named by star: Gold Star (25 bags), Black Star (25 bags, 30-bag canister, loose, tin), Green Star (25 bags, canister, loose, tin) and Earl Grey Silver Star (25 bags, canister), plus English Breakfast (25 bags, canister). The flavoured black teas come as 25 bags, a 100 g carton and a 100 g tin: Strawberry with Cream (bags, carton, tin), Lemon Peel (bags, carton, tin), Rose and Blackcurrant (bags, carton, tin), Wild Rosehip, Hibiscus and Raspberry (bags, carton, tin) and Orange and Cinnamon (bags, carton, tin).
Elephas Maximus and Tea Spirit tins. Five 100 g Elephas Maximus grades, FBOP1, OPA, BOP, OP and Super Pekoe, and five Tea Spirit blends: Green Hills green tea, Summer Time, Any Time, Amber Dew and Mood Indigo.
Regions Tea. Seven small loose-leaf cartons, one per growing region: Nuwara Eliya, Dimbula, Uda Pussellawa, Uva, Kandy, Sabaragamuwa and Ruhuna.
Fruit teas. Black tea with strawberry, lemon, caramel and vanilla, rosehip and apricot or blackcurrant, and green tea with strawberry, lemon or soursop, in 50 g and 25 g loose-leaf cartons. As 25 tea bags: strawberry, lemon, caramel and vanilla, rosehip and apricot and blackcurrant black teas, and strawberry, lemon, soursop, jack fruit and lemon and Minty Hawaiian Cocktail green teas.
Battler Original. Boxes of 20 envelope tea bags: Classic Black, English Breakfast, Classic Earl Grey, Orange Pekoe, Lemon, Strawberry, Peach, Mint and Ginger black teas, Classic Green, Jasmine Green and Peppermint Green teas, and the herbal Pure Chamomile and Pure Peppermint.
Gift boxes. Sampler boxes of envelope tea bags: the black tea, assorted and green tea boxes of 40 bags, the 8-variety box of 80 bags, the 12-variety box, the variety gift box and the wooden gift box. Also the Festive Elephant Fruit Cocktail tin and Earl Grey loose tea.
