• Certain second-level domains (for example .gov.lk and .edu.lk) are restricted to government bodies and accredited educational institutions respectively.
• Domain names that are identical or confusingly similar to well-known trademarks may be challenged through the registry's dispute resolution process.
• Failure to renew before the expiry date places the domain in a grace period, after which it becomes available for registration by third parties.
