Black Elephant is the everyday Orange Pekoe of the Battler Ceylon Elephant range. This is the 200 g carton of loose leaf.
OP grade means long, wiry leaves that are rolled but not broken. They infuse more slowly than broken grades and give a smoother, balanced cup, which is why OP is a common choice for daily tea.
In the pack
- 200 g of loose leaf Ceylon black tea, OP grade
- Packed in a printed carton
- Shelf life of 3 years from packing, as stated by the maker
Tasting notes
Smooth and medium-bodied, with gentle malt notes and a clear amber liquor.
How to brew
- Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) of leaf per cup.
- Pour on freshly boiled water.
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain.
Serving ideas
Drink it plain, with lemon or with milk. It works well in a large pot shared through the morning.
