Parade Green Elephant from Battler is a loose leaf Ceylon green tea, packed as 100 g in a carton. It belongs to the Parade Elephant range, which pairs each tea with a coloured elephant on the pack.
The maker grades this tea GP1, a gunpowder style in which the leaves are rolled into small, tight pellets that open out as they steep. The cup is clean and grassy with fresh vegetal notes and a pale, light golden liquor.

How to brew
Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) of leaf per cup and water at about 80 C, just off the boil. Steep for 2 to 3 minutes and strain; longer steeping turns green tea bitter. The rolled leaves can be steeped a second time.
Serving ideas
Drink it plain, without milk. A thin slice of lemon or a little honey suits it, and it can be cooled over ice for a light summer drink.
