Golden Elephant is a Ceylon black tea from the Parade Elephant tin range by Battler, packed as 100 g of loose leaf in a tin caddy.
The maker describes long, wiry OP1 leaves and a high-grown character: the tea has an elegant strength, a mellow flavour and a floral finish. OP1 is a fine whole-leaf grade, slimmer and more tightly twisted than standard OP. The leaf is sealed in an aluminium foil pouch inside the tin.

How to brew
- Use one teaspoon of leaf (about 2.5 g) per cup.
- Pour on freshly boiled water.
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain.
Serving ideas
Best black or with a little milk, so the floral character comes through. Long leaves need the full steeping time. The tin makes a tidy gift.
