Elephas Maximus Super Pekoe is a Ceylon black tea from the Elephas Maximus range of Battler, named after the scientific name of the Asian elephant. Super Pekoe is a tightly rolled, curly leaf.
It brews a brisk, bright cup with coppery tones and a fresh aroma. The 100g of loose leaf comes in a tin caddy marked with the imprint of an elephant's face, a good-looking tin for the shelf or as a gift.
In the pack
- 100g loose leaf Ceylon black tea, Super Pekoe grade
- Tin caddy with an elephant face imprint
- Shelf life: 3 years from packing
Tasting notes
Brisk and bright, with a coppery liquor and a fresh, clean aroma. The rolled leaves unfurl slowly in the pot.
How to brew
- Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) of leaf per cup.
- Pour on freshly boiled water.
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain.
Serving ideas
Drink it plain or with a little milk. Rolled leaves like a little more room, so a teapot works better than a small infuser.
