A loose leaf pure Ceylon black tea with strawberry, from the Battler fruit tea range. It comes in a 50 g carton, sealed for freshness, and gives about 20 cups at one teaspoon per cup.
The maker lists the tea as pure Ceylon black tea with strawberry flavouring. It is a quick way to try a flavoured Ceylon tea without committing to a large pack, and the carton also suits a desk drawer or a holiday bag.
In the pack
- 50 g of loose leaf Ceylon black tea with strawberry
- Sealed carton; reseal or move to an airtight jar once opened
- The maker gives a shelf life of three years
Tasting notes
A brisk Ceylon black tea base with a sweet, ripe strawberry note on the nose and the finish. The fruit sits on top of the tea rather than hiding it, so the cup still has the body and colour of a plain black tea.
How to brew
- Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) of leaf per cup.
- Pour on freshly boiled water.
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain.
Serving ideas
Good hot on its own, or with a spoon of sugar to bring the berry forward. For an iced tea, brew it double strength, cool it and pour over ice with a few strawberry slices.
