The Battler Elephas Maximus range is named after the Asian elephant, and this OP is its Orange Pekoe, packed as 100 g of loose leaf in a tin caddy.
OP grade is a long, wiry leaf, rolled but not broken, that gives a smooth and balanced cup. The tin carries the imprint of an elephant's face and keeps the tea away from light and damp once opened, which also makes it a neat gift.
In the pack
- 100 g of loose leaf Ceylon black tea, OP grade
- Metal tin caddy with an elephant face design
- Shelf life of 3 years from packing, as stated by the maker
Tasting notes
Medium-bodied and clean, with a smooth finish and an amber liquor.
How to brew
- Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) of leaf per cup.
- Pour on freshly boiled water.
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain.
Serving ideas
Enjoy it black, with lemon or with a little milk. Keep the lid closed tightly between uses.
