Parade Red Elephant is an OPA grade Ceylon black tea from the Parade Elephant range of Battler. OPA means long, large leaves, and this one is a low-grown tea that brews a full-bodied, robust cup.
The 100g of loose leaf comes in a bright carton, with the tea inside sealed in foil to keep its aroma until you open it. The same range also includes White, Silver, Golden and Green Elephant teas.

Tasting notes
A strong, smooth cup with good depth and a dark liquor. The large leaves open slowly, so give it the full brewing time.
How to brew
- Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) of leaf per cup.
- Pour on freshly boiled water.
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain.
Serving ideas
Good with a splash of milk and a little sugar, or plain after a meal. It also makes a sturdy base for iced tea.
