Happy Home Malay Pickle is made by MA's Kitchen under its Happy Home label, which joined MA's in 1995. It is a vibrant mix of shallots, dates, carrot, capsicum and green chillies in a thick mustard and vinegar base, with ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom and clove.
The flavour is tangy and pungent, with crunch and a subtle sweetness. In Sri Lanka, Malay pickle is a festive dish: it is the traditional companion to a rich biryani or a Dutch Burgher lamprais. This jar holds 200g.

How to use
Serve a spoonful on the side of biryani, lamprais or a festive rice and curry spread, where its tang and crunch cut through the richness of the meat and ghee rice. It also brightens an everyday plate of rice and curry, and works in a sandwich with cold meats. Stir the jar before serving so the vegetables are coated in the mustard base.
