MA's Kitchen Coconut Milk Classic is a kitchen staple with a creamy texture and a rich, fresh coconut flavour. Coconut extract makes up 50% of the contents, with water and two stabilisers to keep it smooth.
Coconut milk is the base of countless Sri Lankan dishes, and this 400ml can goes into curries, desserts and drinks alike. The maker's own recipes using it include Colombo Chicken Curry, Parippu (dhal curry), Polos Curry, Mushroom Curry, Basic Jaffna Fish Curry, Yellow Rice and Kiribath (milk rice), as well as Chicken Satay and Thai Green Chicken Curry.
Ingredients
- Coconut Extract (50%)
- Water
- Stabiliser (Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose INS-466, Guar Gum INS-412)
How to use
Shake the can well before opening. For curries, add the coconut milk towards the end of cooking and simmer gently without boiling hard, so it stays smooth; for a dhal curry, stir it in once the lentils are soft. For Kiribath, cook rice in water until soft, then add coconut milk and a little salt and simmer until thick. It also suits desserts and drinks.
