Mc Currie Garam Masala Powder is a ground blend of warm spices. The name comes from Hindi: garam means hot and masala means a mix of spices. Mc Currie packs it in a red vacuum-packed pouch labelled simply "Garam Masala".
Unlike curry powder, garam masala is usually added towards the end of cooking, so its aroma stays bright. It is used across Indian, Pakistani and Sri Lankan Muslim cooking.
In the pack
- Ground garam masala spice blend
- Choose 50g or 1kg
- The pouch prints ISO 22000 Food Safety System Certified
In the kitchen
Stir a teaspoon into a chicken, mutton or lentil curry a few minutes before it comes off the heat. Add it to biryani, keema, kottu and pilau rice, mix it into marinades and kebab mince, or sprinkle a pinch over roast potatoes or a pot of chickpeas.
Storage
Keep the pack tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
Mc Currie dry products are made at the Lanka Spice factory in Makumbura, Pannipitiya, where spices are cleaned, graded, ground and packed under food technologists, and vacuum packed in red printed pouches with the air drawn out.
