Happy Home Date & Lime Chutney is made by MA's Kitchen under its Happy Home label, which joined MA's in 1995. It balances the deep, natural sweetness of dates, which make up half the recipe, with the sharp, refreshing zing of lime.
The result is sweet, sour and tangy, with garlic, ginger, chilli and pepper in the background, and it cuts through rich, fatty dishes. It is best with mutton or beef curries, and it makes a good spread in roast chicken sandwiches. This jar holds 200g.

How to use
Serve a spoonful on the side of a rice and curry plate, especially with rich mutton or beef curries, where its sharpness balances the fat. For a sandwich, spread it thinly on bread with sliced roast chicken and salad leaves. It also goes well with grilled meats and with cheese and crackers.
