Mc Currie Amberella Chutney is a sweet and mildly sour Sri Lankan chutney made with amberella, the tart green fruit also called June plum or golden apple. It is a dark, glossy, spoonable chutney flecked with chilli and spice.
Amberella is a familiar fruit in Sri Lankan homes, eaten raw with salt and chilli or cooked into curries. In this chutney its sharpness is balanced with sweetness, so it sits well beside spicy food.

In the kitchen
Serve a spoonful with rice and curry, with short eats such as patties, rolls and cutlets, or with cheese and crackers. It also works in a sandwich with cold meat or as a dip for fried snacks.
Storage
Refrigerate after opening. Keep the jar closed and use a clean, dry spoon each time.
