Mc Currie Seeni Sambol is the sweet and spicy onion relish of Sri Lanka, slow-cooked until dark and sticky, in a 360g glass jar. "Seeni" means sugar, and the sambol balances that sweetness with chilli and a little sourness.
Sambols are traditional accompaniments to a Sri Lankan meal, and seeni sambol is a favourite with hoppers and string hoppers. It is made at the maker's ready-to-eat factory in the Nalanda Industrial Zone, Matale District, and packed in a glass jar with a red cap.
