Whole green cardamom pods from Malwatte, packed in a flat printed sachet that holds 26g. Each pod holds small dark seeds; crushing the pod lightly before cooking lets the warm, sweet aroma out into the dish.
Malwatte added cardamom to its own plantations in 2012 and opened its spice processing factory in 2019.

In the kitchen
- Crush two or three pods into milk tea as it brews
- Add whole pods to rice, biryani and pilau
- Use in meat and chicken curries
- Grind the seeds for cakes, sweets and puddings
Storage
Keep the sachet tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, or tip the contents into an airtight jar once opened.
