Mc Currie Sinhala Pickle is Sri Lanka's own vegetable pickle, known at home as Sinhala achcharu, packed in a 330g glass jar. It is sour, sweet and spicy at once, with crunchy pieces of vegetable in a mustard-coloured vinegar dressing.
The maker's picture shows shallots, green chillies and strips of carrot and green papaw. Sinhala achcharu is a regular at Sri Lankan weddings and festive lunches, where it cuts through rich curries and biryani.

Storage
