This Malwatte jar is labelled Nutmeg Grated and holds 30g of nutmeg, the warm, sweet spice from the seed of the nutmeg tree. Nutmeg is a staple of Sri Lankan baking and of many savoury dishes too.
Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC grows, processes and packs much of its produce on its own plantations and in its own factories, and also buys from smallholder farmers. It has grown spices since the early 2010s and runs a spice processing factory.

In the kitchen

Storage
Keep the cap tightly closed and store the jar in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. The range label asks you to use the contents within 60 days of opening.
