George Steuart Regional BOP Collection 2 brings together three Ceylon black teas grown at very different heights, from the low country to the high hills. Each comes as BOP grade loose leaf in a 50 g pack.
In the pack
- Kandy BOP, 50 g: mid-grown; a bright, coppery infusion, strong and full-bodied.
- Ruhuna BOP, 50 g: low-grown in the south of the island; full-flavoured and distinctive.
- Uda Pussellawa BOP, 50 g: high-grown, east of Nuwara Eliya; a darker tea with a pinkish hue, more strength and a tangy edge.
The grade
BOP is a small broken leaf, so all three brew fast and strong.
How to brew
Allow one level teaspoon, about 2 g, of leaf per cup of freshly boiled water and steep for 3 to 5 minutes. All three take milk well.
Storage
Close each pack after use and keep them in a cool, dry cupboard, away from strong smells.
George Steuart Teas is the tea company of George Steuart and Co., founded in Ceylon in 1835. It buys, blends and packs its teas at its own facility near Colombo.
