George Steuart Regional BOP Collection 1 puts three high-grown Ceylon black teas side by side, so you can taste how the districts differ. Each is BOP grade loose leaf in its own 50 g pack.
In the pack
- Dimbula BOP, 50 g: from the western slopes of the hill country; a fine golden-orange cup, mellow and refreshing.
- Nuwara Eliya BOP, 50 g: from the highest district; the palest Ceylon tea, golden and delicately fragrant.
- Uva BOP, 50 g: from the eastern slopes; mellow and smooth, with a distinctive taste.
The grade
BOP, Broken Orange Pekoe, is a small broken leaf that brews quickly and strongly.
How to brew
For a fair comparison, brew each tea the same way: one level teaspoon, about 2 g, per cup of freshly boiled water for 3 to 5 minutes. Taste them plain first, then with milk.
Storage
Keep each pack closed in a cool, dry place, away from strong smells.
George Steuart Teas is the tea company of George Steuart and Co., founded in Ceylon in 1835. It buys, blends and packs its teas at its own facility near Colombo.
