Dried garlic ground to a fine powder, packed by Malwatte in a 50g glass shaker bottle. The label reads Garlic Powder, All Natural.
Garlic powder gives a rounded, savoury garlic flavour without peeling or chopping, and it spreads evenly through rubs, batters and sauces where fresh garlic would leave pieces.
In the pack
- 50g garlic powder
- Glass shaker jar with a black screw cap and an "All Natural" label
- Manufactured and packed by Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC, Colombo
In the kitchen
Shake it into spice rubs for chicken, meat and fish, batters and breadcrumb coatings, soups, gravies and salad dressings, or mix it with butter for garlic bread. As a rough guide, about a quarter of a teaspoon stands in for one fresh clove. Keep the powder away from steam so it does not clump.
Storage
Keep the cap tightly closed and store the jar in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Labels in this range say to use the contents within 60 days of opening.
