Mc Currie Peanut Badun is a crunchy, spicy Sri Lankan side dish of peanuts fried with onion and chilli, packed in a 120g jar. A badun is a dry-fried, spiced dish with deep-fried ingredients, served in small amounts beside a meal or as a snack.
The maker's picture shows golden peanuts, some still in their skins, mixed with crisp fried onion. It is salty, a little sweet and chilli-warm, made for snacking with drinks or adding crunch to a plate of rice.
In the pack
- Peanut badun in a 120g jar with a red cap
- Ready to eat: no cooking needed
How to serve
Set it out in a bowl at parties and gatherings, or spoon it beside rice and curry, yellow rice or string hoppers. It also makes a crunchy topping for a simple dhal and rice, or a side for kiribath.
Storage
After opening, keep the jar closed and use a clean, dry spoon each time.
The Mc Currie ready-to-eat range is made at the company's factory in the Nalanda Industrial Zone, Matale District.
