Silver Tips from George Steuart is a white tea made only from the buds of the tea plant. The maker says the buds are plucked and rolled by hand and then dried in the sun.
It comes as 50 g in a metal caddy. The cup is pale and light, and it is meant to be drunk without milk.
In the pack
- 50 g white tea (buds)
- Metal caddy
How to brew
Let freshly boiled water cool to around 80 C before you pour it; boiling water is too hot for buds. Use one to two teaspoons per cup and steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Serve it plain, without milk.
Storage
Close the caddy well. White tea picks up smells easily, so keep it in a cool, dry place away from spices and coffee.
George Steuart Teas is the tea company of George Steuart and Co., founded in Ceylon in 1835. It buys, blends and packs its teas at its own facility near Colombo.
