Step into the northern wilderness at Chundikulam National Park, one of Sri Lanka's oldest protected bird sanctuaries — designated as far back as 1938. Over three hours, your knowledgeable guide leads you through a remarkable mosaic of habitats: mangrove swamps, sea grass beds, palmyra palm plantations, and dry-zone scrub forest, all fringing the expansive Chundikkulam Lagoon. Keep your binoculars trained on the treeline and waterline as resident and migratory species move between feeding grounds.

This is a private birdwatching excursion, so the pace suits you and your group. Your guide provides running commentary — identifying calls, pointing out roosting spots, and sharing the ecology that makes this lagoon system so rich in birdlife.
