About this experience

Board a boat at Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary and glide through one of Sri Lanka's most biodiverse coastal wetlands. Situated along the southeastern coast in the Hambantota district, Kalametiya forms part of the "Ruk" coastal belt — a stretch of lagoons, rocky outcrops, bays, and sandy shores running from Tangalle to Hambantota. Your knowledgeable guide provides commentary throughout, pointing out resident and migratory bird species among the reeds and mangroves during this private, two-hour excursion.

This is a private activity, so the pace is yours. Children aged five and above are welcome aboard. Gratuities and food or drink are not included, so bring a snack and a water bottle for the morning. Lakpura arranges everything else — simply arrive and let the sanctuary unfold around you.
