Accepted Answer

Sethway Village is located in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka, close to Minneriya National Park. It sits within the broader Cultural Triangle region, roughly 25–35 km from Polonnaruwa. The nearest international gateway is Colombo, around four to five hours by road.

Question 2

Can I see elephants at Sethway Village Minneriya?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The village is situated within a wildlife corridor used by wild elephants, and sightings along the tank bunds at dusk and dawn are common. For guaranteed close-range encounters, a jeep safari into Minneriya National Park — especially between June and September — offers the best opportunity to witness large elephant herds.

Question 3

What kind of accommodation is available near Sethway Village?

Accepted Answer

Accommodation in the Minneriya area ranges from eco-lodges and village homestays to small boutique properties. Sethway Village-style stays typically offer simple, nature-focused rooms or bungalows with local hospitality rather than resort-style amenities. Guests looking for a rural, immersive experience will find the area well set up for that style of travel.

Question 4

How far is Sethway Village from Sigiriya?

Accepted Answer

However, the post-monsoon months of October to January offer lush green landscapes and excellent birdwatching around the filled tanks.

Question 6

What activities are available during a stay at Sethway Village?

Accepted Answer

Accepted Answer

The village setting is generally family-friendly, with open landscapes, engaging hands-on activities like cooking and gardening, and the excitement of wildlife in close proximity. Parents should follow host guidance around elephant-frequented areas, particularly in the evening hours.
