Your shore excursion begins at Colombo Port, where your English-speaking chauffeur guide collects you in an air-conditioned vehicle for the drive up to Kandy. First stop is the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya — stroll through avenues of towering trees, orchid houses, and one of Asia's finest collections of tropical plants. Lunch follows at a local restaurant before you head into the city.
The afternoon centres on Kandy's most sacred site: the Temple of the Tooth Relic, set within a historic royal palace complex on the shores of Kandy Lake. Walk the lakeside path at your own pace, then take in a traditional Kandyan cultural show that brings the region's music and dance to life. Your guide drops you back at Colombo Port after roughly 11 hours 30 minutes. Entrance fees, personal expenses, and gratuities are not included. Minimum age is 5.
