About this experience
Travel south from Kalutara in a private air-conditioned vehicle with your English-speaking chauffeur guide and follow the coconut palm-fringed coastline all the way to Galle. Along the way, board a boat for a river safari on the Madu Ganga, drifting through mangrove channels and spotting the birdlife and wildlife that inhabit this serene waterway. A water bottle per person is provided for the journey.
The day's centrepiece is Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site originally built by the Dutch, where you can stroll the ramparts, explore the narrow streets, and take in the colonial architecture at your own pace. Hotel pickup and drop-off from Kalutara are included in this private, 10.5-hour tour, suited to guests aged five and above. Entrance tickets and meals are not included.
