Munchee Ginger Biscuit is a round, golden ginger biscuit made in Sri Lanka by Ceylon Biscuits Limited, the company behind the Munchee name and better known by its initials, CBL. The biscuits are sold as Natural Ginger Biscuits, and the name is printed in Sinhala as well as English on the front of the pack.
CBL describes it as a golden biscuit made with zesty ginger for a balance of spice and sweetness. The biscuits are made with natural ginger, and they are flat, round and a deep golden brown, with a lightly cracked, speckled surface.
They come stacked in a sealed, flow-wrapped packet in orange Munchee livery, with the red Munchee oval and the word Ginger in large letters across the front. It is a plain, everyday biscuit whose whole character is the ginger, made by one of the island's own biscuit makers rather than an imported brand.
