Uva BOP from George Steuart is 50 g of loose Ceylon black tea from the Uva region, on the eastern slopes of the central hills.
Uva is one of the high-grown regions. The maker describes its tea as mellow and smooth, with a taste of its own that sets it apart from the western districts.
In the pack
- 50 g loose leaf tea
- Grade: BOP
- Region: Uva, high-grown
About the grade
BOP (Broken Orange Pekoe) is a small broken leaf. It gives up its colour and flavour quickly, so the brew is strong.
How to brew
Spoon about 2 g (one level teaspoon) into the pot for each cup. Add freshly boiled water, steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then strain. Drink it plain or with milk.
Storage
Keep the pack folded closed in a cool, dry cupboard, away from strong smells.
George Steuart Teas is the tea company of George Steuart and Co., founded in Ceylon in 1835. It buys, blends and packs its teas at its own facility near Colombo.
