The tour operates on two daily sessions: an early morning slot and an evening session at 4:00 pm. Both last approximately two hours. If you have a preference for a specific departure time, it is worth confirming availability when you book.
What is included in the tour?
The tour includes your guide and experienced boatman/tracker, the eco-friendly raft or paddle craft, bottled water, and all taxes and service charges. Hotel pick-up and drop-off, food, additional drinks, and gratuities are not included.
What wildlife might I see during the tour?
The lagoon and its mangrove surroundings are home to crocodiles, water monitors, Macaque monkeys, and a range of aquatic and semi-aquatic bird species. Elephants occasionally come to the water's edge, particularly in the evenings, though wildlife sightings are always subject to natural variation and cannot be guaranteed.
How many passengers does the craft carry?
The boat operates as a private safari with a maximum of four passengers, so the tour is not shared with strangers.
Where does the tour start and end?
The tour begins and ends at the lagoon entrance in Pottuvil, four kilometres north of Arugam Bay. Getting to and from the departure point is the guest's own arrangement, as transfers are not part of the package.
