Harischandra Special Noodles are dried wheat noodles made from wheat flour and salt, in a 400g pack marked Cooks in 2 minutes. They are thinner and quicker to cook than the plain Harischandra noodles.
Harischandra has made noodles at Matara since 1966, and its noodles carry the Sri Lanka Standards Institution mark for noodles (SLS 420).
How to cook
- Drop the noodles into boiling salted water and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring so the strands separate.
- Drain, rinse, then fry with vegetables, egg, chicken or seafood and a dash of soya sauce.
- They are also quick in a broth or a spicy Sri Lankan style noodle fry with curry leaves and chilli.
