This Malwatte tin holds Pure Ceylon Green Tea from the Single Estate Tea range: a pale grey tin with a green label, 75g net. The label says the leaf is hand-picked in the company tea gardens in Uva Province and processed as little as possible.
Green tea is made from the same tea bush as black tea, but the leaf is not oxidised, so it stays green and gives a light, pale cup.
In the tin
- 75g of loose Ceylon green tea
- Rectangular lidded tin with a picture of the leaf on the label
How to brew
Let boiled water cool to about 80 C. Use one teaspoon (about 2.5 g) per cup and brew for 2 to 3 minutes; longer steeping makes green tea bitter. Drink it without milk.
Storage
Close the lid firmly after use and keep the tin in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and strong smells.
Malwatte is the food brand of Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC of Colombo, a Sri Lankan grower, manufacturer and exporter of tea and spices.
