This is Akbar Silver Tips white tea: unopened buds hand-picked at dawn in Sri Lanka's high tea gardens and dried in the sun, presented in a hand-crafted, silver-coloured metal tin with an embossed, domed lid.
Because only the bud is used, the tea brews a pale, delicate liquor with floral notes and a natural sweetness, light in body and smooth. Serve it plain, without milk or sugar, so nothing hides the flavour.
The 40 g tin is made as a gift and a keepsake. It shields the fragile buds from light, damp and kitchen smells, and once empty it can be kept as a tea caddy or on a shelf.
