Green Gold from Akbar is a pure green tea sold as loose leaf in a 100g packet. There are no added flavourings: just green tea leaves, kept whole rather than cut fine for tea bags.
Whole leaf has space to open in the pot, which gives a light-bodied, light golden cup with a gently grassy taste and a smooth finish. Brewed at the right temperature it stays mellow, without the harsh edge that green tea takes on when the water is too hot. The 100g size suits regular drinkers who want to brew by the pot or by the cup.

How to brew
- One level teaspoon per cup
- Water at 80-85°C: boil, then let it stand for about 2 minutes
- Steep for 2-3 minutes and strain promptly
Serving ideas
Drink it plain to taste the leaf, or add a little honey or a slice of fresh lemon. For iced green tea, brew a little stronger, cool, and pour over ice.
Store the leaf in an airtight container away from light and kitchen smells.
