Ella Uda Ella Falls is a captivating waterfall located near Ella town in Sri Lanka’s Uva Province. Nestled within the scenic hills of the central highlands, the falls cascade gracefully into a shallow, rocky pool, offering a tranquil and photogenic setting just a short distance from the famous Nine Arch Bridge.
The waterfall originates from a mountain stream that descends over a tiered rock face, creating a picturesque drop of approximately 10–12 meters. The surrounding area is richly vegetated, hosting native flora and a chorus of birdlife, making it a peaceful spot for nature lovers.
Visiting Ella Uda Ella Falls involves a pleasant walk through tea plantations and forest paths. The accessible trail and modest drop make it suitable for families and casual hikers. Many visitors combine the experience with a trip to nearby attractions such as the Ravana Falls and Little Adam’s Peak.
The falls are best visited during the dry season between January and April, when the water flow is calmer and the paths are less slippery. Easily reachable from Ella town by tuk-tuk or a short trek, Ella Uda Ella Falls offers a serene retreat away from the region’s more crowded tourist spots.
