Kasthuri Lime, also known as Lime Berry (Triphasia trifolia), is a thorny evergreen shrub growing 1–3 meters tall, valued for its aromatic properties and medicinal uses. Native to East Asia and long cultivated in tropical regions, it thrives in sunny, well-drained soil and is often grown as an ornamental or hedge plant. The lemon-scented fruits are edible—used raw, pickled, or in jams—though slightly mucilaginous. Medicinally, its leaves are used for treating diarrhea, colic, skin diseases, and dandruff, while the fruit, boiled with sugar, is taken for coughs and phlegm relief.
