Classic Earl Grey from the Battler Original range by Battler is Ceylon black tea scented with bergamot, packed as 20 tea bags, each in its own paper envelope.
Earl Grey takes its flavour from bergamot, a citrus fruit whose rind gives a fragrant oil. Here it sits on a Ceylon black tea base, which keeps the cup bright and gives it enough body to stand behind the citrus.
In the pack
- 20 enveloped tea bags of 2 g each (40 g in total).
- Ingredients: Ceylon black tea, bergamot flavour.
- Keep the tea closed, cool and dry, away from strong smells. The maker gives a shelf life of three years.
Tasting notes
A bright, citrusy aroma with a floral edge over a medium-bodied black tea. Clean and lightly brisk.
How to brew
- Use one tea bag per cup.
- Pour on freshly boiled water.
- Steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then lift out the bag.
Serving ideas
Traditionally taken black or with a thin slice of lemon; a little milk also works. It pairs well with shortbread or a lemon cake, and the envelopes make it easy to carry.
