Akbar Gold is the premium black tea range from Akbar Brothers. These are the tea bags: pure Ceylon black tea of BOPF (Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings) grade from high-grown gardens, with 2g of tea in every bag.
The small, broken leaf brews quickly into a strong, brisk cup with a bright colour and a malty depth, which is why it stands up well to milk. Packs carry the Ceylon Tea Lion Logo, the Sri Lanka Tea Board mark for 100% pure Ceylon tea packed in Sri Lanka.
The same tea comes in several pack sizes. The envelope option seals each bag individually until you open it, which is handy for travel or the office.

How to brew
- In a cup: one bag, freshly boiled water, 3-5 minutes
- In a pot: one bag per person, at least 3 minutes
- Iced: brew at double strength and pour over ice
Serving ideas
Add milk, sugar or lemon to taste. Iced, it goes well with lemon, lime or a few mint leaves.
