Classic Green Tea is the green tea in the Akbar Classic tin range: 250g of loose Ceylon green tea leaf.
According to our existing product information, the leaf is grown at around 3,000 feet above sea level, plucked fresh and made by traditional Chinese methods, in which the leaf is heated soon after plucking so that it stays green instead of oxidising into black tea. The liquor is a pale green with a naturally sweet aroma and a light, fresh taste.
Green tea is easy to spoil with water that is too hot, so let the kettle stand for a minute or two after boiling. Drink it plain; milk does not suit it, though a slice of lemon or a little honey does.

- 250g loose leaf green tea in a tin
How to brew
- One level teaspoon per cup.
- Water at about 80 C.
- Steep for 2 to 3 minutes, then strain.
- The leaves can be infused a second time.
Store the tin closed and away from heat and strong smells.
