The text is in Sinhala throughout, and there is no English translation within the book. Reading it comfortably calls for fluency in written Sinhala rather than conversational familiarity, so buyers ordering from outside Sri Lanka should be confident of that before adding it to a basket. The title itself derives from Pali, where akāliko carries the sense of something not bound by time.
Godage International Publishers is a long-established Colombo house issuing books in Sinhala and English across fiction, poetry, scholarship and general non-fiction. Its catalogue is the usual route by which contemporary Sinhala writing reaches readers, and a good deal of it is difficult to find outside the island.

Readers who do not have Sinhala will find little use for a copy, and are better served by Sri Lankan writing available in English.
