Elephant Trail Hotel sits on the fringes of Udawalawe National Park in southern Sri Lanka, about 7.9 km from the park and 15.1 km from Embilipitiya. The property looks out over sugar cane cultivation and the National Park, and it is very close to the Udawalawe reservoir and the Elephant Orphanage.

Safaris into Udawalawe National Park are the main draw, for elephants and other native wildlife in their natural habitat, and the hotel arranges its own tailor-made wildlife packages. Cycling, fishing and hiking can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, and the help desk can arrange excursions to a limestone cave, a hot water spring and ancient temples.
We had a warm welcome from Indu. He was amazingly supportive and warm. A very calm and peaceful place to stay. We would come back for sure.
What a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff right next to the National Park. If you get a chance eat in their restaurant too.
Everything very correct as expected. The staff is excellent. The breakfast is very good. The only annoyance is that the windows do not have light insulation. And it wakes you up at six in the morning.
