Eden Resort & Spa is a Brown's Hotels beach resort at Kaluwamodara between Beruwala and Bentota, with 158 rooms in curving wings around a large pool by the sea. It is a full-service resort with separate adults' and children's pools, an Ayuwása spa, kids' and teens' clubs and butler service in its upper room categories.

The hotel's own pages give every category as two adults and a child; our contract allows up to three adults, so if three of you are sharing, tell us when you book so that the hotel can prepare an extra bed.
The Garden of Eden is the resort's all-day restaurant, serving buffets. Splash is the bar by the pool, and Champs is a sports bar. The resort faces west over the sea, so evening drinks come with the sunset.
The resort is built around its large pool, and there is a separate pool for children. The Ayuwása wellness centre offers massages, treatments and signature packages, and there is a gymnasium. Children and teenagers have their own clubs, and the hotel arranges water sports, indoor and outdoor activities and excursions along the coast.
The resort is on the beach near the mouth of the Bentota River, where the Diyakawa water sports centre is based. The hotel puts the Beruwala lighthouse about 5 minutes away, a turtle hatchery about 13 minutes and the mangrove boat safaris on the Madu Ganga about 15 minutes. Close to Bentota are Bevis Bawa's Brief Garden and Geoffrey Bawa's country estate at Lunuganga, and in Beruwala the old Ketchimalai Mosque stands on its headland above the fishing harbour.
The resort is about 84 kilometres south of Bandaranaike International Airport in a straight line, and most of the drive is on expressways. The simplest way to arrive is a private transfer from Colombo airport to Eden Resort & Spa, which takes you all the way to the door. By train, Bentota station on the coastal line is less than a kilometre away.
