Abfahrt von Ihrem Hotel in Weligama: Ihr privates, klimatisiertes Fahrzeug fährt neun Stunden lang nach Norden entlang der Küste. Ihr englischsprachiger Fahrer-Guide führt Sie zunächst zu Lunuganga, dem ehemaligen Landgut des legendären Architekten Sir Geoffrey Bawa – ein Landschaftsgarten, wie es ihn sonst nirgendwo auf der Insel gibt. Von dort aus steigen Sie in die Meetiyagoda-Mondsteinminen hinab, wo Sri Lankas berühmte blaue Mondsteine in einer jahrhundertealten Tradition aus der Erde gewonnen werden.
Die letzte Station ist Balapitiya, wo Sie ein Boot für eine Safari auf dem Madu River besteigen – durch Mangrovenwaterläufe und Beobachtung von Wildtieren entlang der Wasserstraßen.
