Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions, Negombo, Sri Lanka
Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions is a charming and serene retreat set across the beaches of Negombo, designed to offer guests a truly tranquil escape. Each stay is shaped around the ancient principles of Ayurveda, blending specialist medical care, curative treatments, and a calming natural environment into a single, unhurried experience.
The property sits approximately 12 km from the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake — around a 15 to 20-minute drive — while the city of Colombo lies 35 km away and the busy town of Negombo is just 3 km from the hotel.
Accommodation
Guests choose from 12 spacious King and Queen Pavilions, each with its own private garden and dedicated treatment area. Rooms are elegantly appointed and include an open-air bath with shower, individual CD/VCD player, television, hot and cold water, hair dryer, air-conditioning, mini fridge, safe, fan, wellness music system, and telephone — everything arranged to soothe the mind from the moment of arrival.
Treatments and Wellness
Several doctors specialising in Neurology, Gynaecology, Dermatology, and Ayurveda are available for consultation throughout a guest's stay. An in-house Ayurveda consultant is on call 24 hours a day. Treatment programmes range from 14 to 21 days for diabetic clients, and the broader menu covers beauty delights, combined packages, curative residential programmes, preventive residential programmes, and slimming treatments. Yoga and music therapy are also offered, with a specialist in therapeutic healing using the sounds of the sitar to help relieve depression and stress.
Dining
The Herbs and Spice Restaurant serves Ayurveda cuisine alongside tropical fresh fruit drinks. Meals for guests undergoing Ayurveda treatments are individually prepared according to each person's body formation, while à la carte options are available for those who prefer a freer menu. Dining can be enjoyed by the swimming pool or within the privacy of one's own pavilion. The grounds are filled with tropical vegetation and medicinal plants that reinforce the resort's commitment to natural living.
Excursions
The surrounding region offers a wealth of experiences for those who wish to explore. Negombo town carries a clear Dutch influence, visible in its churches, the Dutch Canal, and the Negombo Dutch Fort. A boat ride through the Muthurajawela Marsh and its narrowing waterways leads all the way to the Negombo Lagoon, where a variety of birds can be spotted. A day excursion to Kandy is also possible, as is a leisurely tour of the Negombo fishing village to observe local life at close hand. For more adventurous travellers, windsurfing along the Negombo coast and diving through sites such as the Kudupaduwa shipwreck, the Duwa coral reef, the Ula Gala coral reef, and the Katuneriya Royal Air Force aircraft wreck offer memorable underwater discoveries.
