Ahangama Easy Beach, Ahangama, Sri Lanka
Nestled on the beachfront of Ahangama, a quiet coastal town in the deep south of Sri Lanka, Ahangama Easy Beach Guesthouse is a relaxed retreat pitched perfectly at surfers and beach holiday seekers. The property sits roughly 136 km south of Colombo, approximately 40 km from Hikkaduwa and about 20 km from the historic city of Galle — close enough to explore the region, yet far enough removed to feel genuinely unhurried.
The guesthouse combines clean, simple accommodation with direct beach access, making it a natural base for anyone drawn to the surf breaks, golden sands, and coastal villages of Sri Lanka's southern shore.
Location and Getting There
Ahangama lies along the southern coast, well within reach of several notable towns. For guests arriving by air, the guesthouse management can arrange airport pick-ups in an air-conditioned van accommodating up to four guests, provided sufficient notice is given.
Accommodation
Rooms at Easy Beach come in single and double configurations, as do the Kabanas — open-style units that carry a distinctly casual, coastal character. All rooms and Kabanas are air-conditioned, neatly furnished, and kept to a tidy standard that suits the straightforward spirit of a beach stay.
Facilities
A fine breakfast is included with all packages, and additional meals can be arranged on request. Given the guesthouse's position in a well-regarded surf area on the west coast, a collection of surfboards is available for rent, and a surf instructor is on hand for those who want guidance in the water. Wi-Fi connectivity extends across the entire property.
Surfing and Excursions
There are four consistent surf breaks in the vicinity, among them The Rock at Kabalana and Lazy Left at Midigama. Between November and April, conditions are considered particularly suitable for both surfing and snorkelling. Beyond the waves, the surrounding coastline stretches for miles of golden sand, and the nearby villages and coastal towns offer plenty of easy, rewarding exploration.
For those wishing to venture a little further, the guesthouse arranges both roundtrips and day trips. A visit to Galle and its historic Dutch Fort ruins — which still stand after hundreds of years — is among the most rewarding excursions within reach.
