Question 1

What size should I order if I am between sizes?

Accepted Answer

When you fall between two sizes, the safer choice for most garments is the larger size, especially for tops and outerwear where a close fit is less critical. For fitted items such as shirts or structured jackets, check the exact chest measurement listed in the product description and match it to your own measurement.

Question 2

How do I convert EU clothing sizes to US sizes?

Accepted Answer

As a general rule, a US men's size M corresponds to EU 40–42 and a women's US size 8 corresponds to EU 38. However, these are approximate conversions and can vary between brands. Always refer to the specific chest and waist measurements in centimetres rather than relying solely on the label.

Question 3

Are Sri Lankan clothing sizes the same as European sizes?

Accepted Answer

Locally manufactured garments in Sri Lanka often follow Asian sizing conventions, which tend to run slightly smaller than European or US equivalents. If you are purchasing locally produced apparel, consider going one size up from your usual European size as a starting point.

Question 4

How do I measure my foot for shoe size?

Accepted Answer

Stand on a flat surface with your heel against a wall. Place a ruler or tape measure on the floor and measure from the wall to the tip of your longest toe. This measurement in centimetres can be matched to the foot-length column in the footwear conversion table above to find your size.

Question 5

What does 'Free Size' mean on a product listing?

Accepted Answer

Free Size indicates that the item is not manufactured to a fixed dimensional standard, usually because it is made from a natural or organic material whose dimensions vary. For most decorative or functional items listed as Free Size, this is not a concern. For any item intended to fit a person or a pet, check the product listing for any stated measurement range.

Question 6

Can I exchange an item if the size is wrong?

Accepted Answer

Exchange and return policies vary depending on the product type and whether it is a physical item shipped internationally or sourced locally in Sri Lanka. Please refer to Lakpura's returns policy page or contact us before placing your order if sizing is a concern — we are happy to confirm measurements in advance.

Question 7

How do children's clothing sizes work?

Accepted Answer

Children's sizing is typically based on age or height rather than a letter system. A label reading '5Y' generally fits a child of around five years old, but because children's proportions vary, height and chest measurements are a more reliable guide. Check the individual product listing for the specific age and height range each size is designed for.
