Malwatte Chilli Powder is ground dried red chilli, packed in a 100g printed card carton. It comes from Malwatte Valley Plantations, which processes and packs spices in its own factory.
Made from dried red chillies ground to a fine powder, it brings heat and a deep red colour. Sri Lankan curries often use it alongside curry powder and turmeric.

In the kitchen
- Add to curries, a little at a time, to set the heat.
- Mix with salt and lime for a quick sambol or a rub for fish and meat.

Storage
Once opened, move the chilli powder into an airtight jar, or keep the carton tightly closed, in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
