Moringa — known in Sri Lanka as murunga, and elsewhere as the drumstick tree — is a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree found across South and Southeast Asia. Grown widely on the island for both its seed pods and its leaves, Moringa oleifera has long been valued in Sri Lankan kitchens and traditional households, where the leaves are cooked as a vegetable in everyday curries. Our leaves come from home-grown regions, and are carefully dried before being processed and milled into a fine, even powder in small batches.
Certified organic. The leaves are grown without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides, and the powder carries nothing beyond the leaf itself. In plain terms, that means a single-ingredient product from growers working to organic standards, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives added at any stage.

Moringa powder has a green, faintly grassy taste that sits well with sweet and savoury food alike. Stir a spoonful into your morning porridge, scatter it over breakfast cereal, or blend it into a smoothie, where it disappears into the colour and body of the drink. It can also be worked into doughs, soups and sauces, and used in place of fresh moringa leaves where these are hard to find. A little goes a long way, so start with a small amount and adjust to taste. Keep the jar closed in your spice cabinet, away from heat and direct light; no refrigeration is needed.
