Impra Exclusive Special Orange Pekoe Big Leaf Tea is a loose-leaf black tea from Sri Lanka, packed in a 200g rectangular carton by Imperial Tea Exports (Pvt) Ltd in Kelaniya. The packaging carries the Ceylon Tea Lion Logo seal, confirming its status as Pure Ceylon Tea, and the carton itself — a deep magenta and purple box with an ornate embossed upper body — reflects the care that has gone into the product's presentation.
Orange Pekoe is a leaf-grade classification, not a flavour description. It denotes whole, unbroken leaves — the second leaf from the tip of a tea shoot — rather than the broken grades, fannings, or dust that typically fill tea bags. The result in the cup is a brew that expresses the full character of the leaf, with a depth and clarity that smaller leaf fragments rarely achieve. The sole ingredient printed on the pack is black tea, with nothing else added.
Imperial Tea Exports was established in 1994 and has grown into one of Sri Lanka's top ten tea exporters. Its flagship brand, Impra, is distributed across more than 50 countries, from Russia and China to the United States, Australia, Germany, and markets across the Middle East and the CIS. Each 200g carton contains 100 servings at a 2g serving size, as stated on the nutrition panel. To brew, use freshly boiled water and allow the leaves adequate time to steep — the loose-leaf format rewards a little patience. Once the carton is opened, store the remaining tea in an airtight container kept in a cool, dry place to preserve the freshness of the leaves. The tea may be taken plain or with milk.
The pack carries an EAC conformity mark, indicating compliance with Eurasian Economic Union requirements, alongside the Sri Lanka Tea Board packer registration. These are not marketing designations but regulatory markers, and their presence on an internationally distributed product of this kind is expected and appropriate.
